Maximilian Ehrhardt

Was born in Tettnang (Germany). After preliminary education as a young talent at the “Landeskonservatorium für Vorarlberg” (Austria) and the “Konservatorium der Stadt Zürich” (Switzerland) he studied the harp with Erika Waardenburg at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (the Netherlands) from where he graduated in 2009 with the Master’s Degree with distinctions.

He first started specializing in historical performance practice with Constance Allanic as part of his master’s programme. Since 2008 he is a student of Mara Galassi at the “Accademia Internazionale della Musica di Milano” (Italy), where he is currently finishing his degree in historical harps.

Maximilian is regularly performing in solo recitals, theatre productions, baroque orchestras and chamber music ensembles all over Europe. He has worked with ensembles such as the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, the Gürzenich-Orchester of the Cologne Opera, the Sweelinck-Orchestra, ‘Larpa Festante and Musica Temprana. His performances include collaborations with Sylvain Cambreling, Reinbert de Leeuw, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Gabriel Garrido and Marcello Gatti. Maximilian played recitals in the Early Music Festivals of Utrecht, Hoorn (the Netherlands) and Montfrin (France), as well as the MITO Settembre Musica Festival in Milan (Italy). He is also giving masterclasses and lectures on historical harps.

He is a member of the historical harp consort “Concerto Barberini”.
